Beguiling, sensuous and bloody as hell, Dario Argento’s Deep Red (1975) is a classic of horror cinema. Key to its power is the eerie, keyboard-heavy score by Claudio Simonetti and his band Goblin: circling rhythms, trebly electronic shimmers and haunting melodies work with Argento’s images for a swoony, sinister effect. Now VIFF audiences will get to feel that effect as few others have, with a live scoring of the movie by Simonetti and the band, who will also play an extra set of their soundtrack classics.

JINJER is a Ukrainian 4-piece progressive metal band with strong hardcore and groove metal origins. JINJER were formed in 2010, when Tatiana Shmailyuk joined the guys as a vocalist. In 2013, the band were acknowledged as the best metal band of the year in Ukraine.

Musician and horror aficionado Joseph Poole embarked on his career in music in 1992 with Maniac Spider Trash. In 2004, Poole began recording under the moniker Wednesday 13, releasing the EP 6 Years, 6 Feet Under the Influence.
